1/12/2010 12:00pm EST

Jackie Chan was immortalized in wax at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood. He showed up for the unveiling yesterday, and the resemblance is uncanny. Which Jackie is which?

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies -'Book Of Eli,' 'Lovely Bones' & More

1/11/2010 10:08am EST
I'm really glad that I finally got the chance to see James Cameron's "Avatar" in 3-D. Visually Cameron creates an incredibly convincing alien world, paying attention to even the smallest details in the environment.

The vibrant jungle scenes bring out the advantages of 3-D and convinced me that as a medium it isn't just a lame gimmick, but rather an opportunity for filmmaking to mature in the coming years.

"Avatar" kept me glued to the screen, captivating me from the moment it began until the moment it finished. While the story and dialogue were predictable, I didn't necessarily c...

January: The Worst Month For Cinema

1/8/2010 10:35am EST
The Worst Month for Cinema
January truly is the worst month for film. In fact, January is the equivalent of the second string JV team in high school. Its sole purpose is to warm the benches for the upcoming seasons.

The month sometimes holds a few kernels of popcorn goodness. The two genres that perform well, or at least have been granted a few sleeper hits in the past decade, are thrillers and sci-fi/horror. Last year 'Taken' and 'My Bloody Valentine 3D' were stars among flops in January. Typically, as rabid consumers of cinema, we forget about January. Honestly, do any of you fondly remember titles like, '...

Sylvester Stallone's Broken Neck, And A List Of Hollywood's Most Painful Injuries

1/7/2010 11:01am EST
Sylvester Stallone
The other day Sylvester Stallone revealed that he had a metal plate placed inside his neck after a freak accident while filming a fight scene for his new movie The Expendables. Many stars want to do their own stunts, either out of pride or a desire to make the movie as real as possible. However, few have escaped unscathed.

Stallone has always insisted on doing his own stunts, and said he had his worst injury while filming Rocky IV. He insisted that co-star Dolph Lundgren actually punch him during takes, and Dolph delivered a stunning punch to Stallone's chest. His ribs compressed agains...

Q&A: Brett Ratner On 'Beverly Hills Cop IV,' 'The Shooter Series,' And What He Thinks Of Comic Book Fans

9/9/2009 12:01pm EDT
Brett Ratner
Is Brett Ratner misunderstood? The "Rush Hour" and "X-Men: The Last Stand" director thinks that's quite possible.

His new retrospective DVD series, "The Shooter Series," (to be released September 15) paints the some may call party-boy director in a different light. Contemporaries such as Quentin Tarantino share their experiences about working with Ratner; and the director's early student films, commercials, and music videos are also chronicled.

Ratner also doesn't parse words about his feelings toward the vocal online community who criticized his work on "X-Men: The Last Stand," and h...

Owen Wilson's Best & Worst Films

10/21/2008 9:21am EDT
Owen Wilson
The Frat Pack has been a powerful force in the new Millennium, and for awhile it was like we could not see a comedy without Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, and Owen Wilson. These comedic geniuses are quirky, timely, and have a lasting power that will keep them in movies for years to come. The goofy, charming Owen Wilson has proven himself not only as an actor, but as an Oscar-nominated screenwriter. There's a lot more going on beneath those blonde surfer bangs than one might expect, and with "Marley & Me" coming out this Christmas, let's take a look at some of the fine...

Movies With Heart: The 100 Best 'Romdramedies' Of The Past 20 Years

4/17/2008 8:00am EDT
There's the quintessential romantic comedy, and then there's the romdramedy. Similar to a dramedy (in which there is an equal balance of humor and serious content), a romdramedy combines comedy and drama with that mushy thing we call romance.

This is not a list of the best films over the past 20 years. Rather it is a list that gives preferences to those films that best combine all three elements - romance, comedy and drama.

Films like Magnolia and The Matrix were barred from competition, while films like Down with Love were considered (however, that one didn't make the cut)....

'In Treatment' Features Stellar Writing, Directing & Performances

3/21/2008 9:06am EDT
In Treatment
In Treatment, the powerful HBO series, stars Gabriel Byrne as Dr. Paul Westin, a middle-aged therapist who runs a practice out of his home, and it's probably the best thing on television. Although the series is nearing the end of its first season, it's something you should watch on demand, next season, or if and when there is a DVD release.

There are no car chases. There are no scenes at the 'Bing with strippers on poles perved on by older, Italian Americans. There are no sex scenes or ones with Sharon Stone crossing her legs with the guy who played Newman on Seinfeld squirming in h...

'Survivor' Fantasy Cast: Who Would You Strand On An Island?

2/4/2008 12:00pm EST
Snoop Dogg
I'm an avid fan of "Survivor." I have been since the first episode of the first season. What's not to love? With the amount of scheming, deception and backstabbing, I always found myself thinking of people that I would want to see wasting away on "Survivor." This list usually included people that I intensely disliked because the experience can be tough on some people.

I have assembled my list of celebrities, historical figures and fictional characters that I would love to have on my island. The latest season had 16 people, so that's the number I'm going with.

7/31/2007 12:22pm EDT
Rush Hour 3
Jackie Chan's new action comedy sequel Rush Hour 3 is facing release difficulties in his native country because it's been branded "fundamentally anti-Chinese".

The Hong Kong-born actor's film has prompted controversy over a scene where a family involved in organized crime visit Paris. The association with Triad gang members has reportedly angered Chinese authorities, according to Variety Asia.

Under strict rules, only 20 foreign releases a year are permitted in China, and Rush Hour moviemakers fear theirs may not make the cut.

However, censors at China's Film Bureau insist th...

Jackie Chan Blames Hollywood And Aspiring Singing Career For Drunken Incident

7/13/2006 9:57am EDT
Jackie Chan
Jackie Chan blames Hollywood for his drunken stage invasion at a recent concert. The martial arts star has accused movie bosses of ruining his musical ambitions and Chan was so desperate to prove his vocal talents he jumped on stage at a Hong Kong show.

He is quoted by New York Daily News newspaper: "I always wanted to be a singer, and I still try to get my singing included in films. I sing every time during the closing credits of my films, but somehow when the films get dubbed in English they also bring in a different closing singer for the credits - which is very disappointing."
