A small correction to my praise of "To End All Wars" - four and a half stars out of five is actually 90% not 95 !

BBC2 tonight (010108) "To End All Wars" is a magnificently gripping and grittily realistic portayal of the Japanese POW ethic and the incredible courage of some of the British captives and is a very moving testament to Ernest Gordon, played with great restraint and empathy by Ciaran McMenamin. There are fine performances from Robert Carlyle, James Cosmo and Mark Strong - indeed the whole cast give really top class acting and the direction is excellent. It is AN UTTER TRAVESTY that the Radio RTimes only gives this film two stars - I would give it four and a half (out of five) i.e. 95%of total perfection = Colin Stirling-Whyte, Edinburgh +

I think Robert Carlyle is very a universal actor, when he plays the role he is doing it with a strong enthusiasm.Anyway it's really amazing to watch how quickly and sincerely he changes the characters, so I really wish him the best luck in the next year!:) and i hope to have the possibility to see him one day in theatre!:):)
