November 11th, 2013 11:42am EST
Big Fish
Just three months after making its Broadway debut, the stage adaptation of Tim Burton's Big Fish is set to close.

Burton's film, which came out in 2003 and starred Albert Finney and Ewan McGregor, was adapted from Daniel Wallace's 1998 novel of the same name. Earlier this year it was written for the stage with five-time Tony winner Susan Stroman at the helm.

Unfortunately, the play hasn't performed well and falling box office sales have led to the decision to close the production down at the end of the year.

The production cost close to $14 million to produce and the final performance of...

The show began previews on 5 Sept...

The 47-year-old actress - who has children Billy, ten, and Nell, five, with her partner of 12 years, Tim Burton - enjoys her home comforts so much that she once had a special hot water bottle designed ...

Tim Burton Considering 'Beetlejuice' Sequel

October 22nd, 2013 12:07pm EDT
Tim Burton
Tim Burton, a director not known for sequels, could be making a follow-up to one of his most-celebrated films 25 years later.

Several sources report Burton is in talks to make a sequel to Beetlejuice, the film generally credited with giving him the chance to direct Batman and Batman Returns. Returns would be the only sequel in his career, although he did get a producer's credit for Batman Forever.

Seth Grahame-Smith received Burton's blessing back in 2011 to begin developing a script, but few expected the director would be interested in making the film. Michael Keaton's involvement is sti...

October 5th, 2013 4:00pm EDT
Helena Bonham Carter
A representative for Helena Bonham Carter is downplaying reports suggesting the star's longtime lover and partner Tim Burton is cheating on her, insisting images of the director kissing a mysterious blonde woman are not what they appear to be.
On Thursday, the New York Post published a grainy photograph of the filmmaker and a woman kissing outside a theatre, sparking rumors that Burton is cheating on the British actress.
But a representative for Bonham Carter told Britain's Daily Express, "This is absolutely nonsense. The pictures were taken whilst they were out and the large group incl...

Helena Bonham Carter angered Tim Burton with Elizabeth Taylor voice

July 17th, 2013 3:10am EDT
Tim Burton
Director Tim Burton was so sick of his partner Helena Bonham Carter staying in character as Dame Elizabeth Taylor at home, he adopted the voice of Richard Burton as revenge.

The Harry Potter star plays the Hollywood legend in a new British TV movie, Burton and Taylor, featuring Dominic West as her famously fiery husband.

Bonham Carter became so engrossed with her portrayal of the Cleopatra star, she struggled to let go after leaving the set - much to the chagrin of her own Burton at home.

She says, "(Taylor) stuck, she's very contagious, she's like a disease. (So) I'd be sounding like th...

September 8th, 2012 3:00pm EDT
The Avengers
Sometimes the task of getting people to flock to the movie theatres during the summer months can be tricky, as some would rather soak up the rays from the sun instead of those coming from the projector. But if the soothing sensation of a cool, dark room isn't enough to attract the audience, what is? Here's a recap of this summer's hits and misses at the box office.

The season kicked off big time with "The Avengers," which brought in a record $207.4 million during its first weekend. Performances by stars such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson brought life to Iron Man,...

Great Actor/Director Combos For The Release Of 'Dark Shadows'

May 11th, 2012 1:03pm EDT
Dark Shadows
Every artist has their muse, whether it be human, imaginary, or in some cases, drug induced. And while certainly some people might joke that the latter is Tim Burton's muse of choice, given the stye and subject of many of his films, it's become quite clear over the years that he draws inspiration from the people he surrounds himself with. Most notable among them are Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp.

Given that his newest film, "Dark Shadows", marks Burton and Depp's 8th film collaboration, we at Starpulse decided to take a look at some of the other actor/director partnerships that hav...

'Dark Shadows' Is Fun & Campy Despite A One-Note Performance From Johnny Depp

May 10th, 2012 7:01pm EDT
Dark Shadows
For those of you, like myself, who aren't familiar with the television series 'Dark Shadows' which ran from 1966-1971, here are the film's cliff notes:

The year is 1750 (give or take) and a wealthy young man named Barnabus Collins (Johnny Depp) gets it on with his maid Angelique (Eva Green), who just happens to be a witch. She feels the love... Him… not so much. The witch gets pissed, turns Barnabus into a vampire, locks him in a coffin and then buries him deep in the ground.

Still not satisfied, Angelique kills Barnabus's one true love as well as his parents and then she spends the next ...

Tim Burton And Johnny Depp's 'Dark Shadows' Past

May 9th, 2012 8:20pm EDT
Dark Shadows
Are you familiar with the story of Dark Shadows? It was originally a late afternoon supernatural soap opera that ran on the ABC TV network from 1966 to 1971. Some 1,225 episodes were shot during Dark Shadows run and if you were a teenager during that time, you probably rushed home each day after school to catch it.

Directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp, the 2012 reboot of the cult classic seemed to be a dream job for both Burton and Depp. Tim Burton has publically stated that he was a big fan of the TV series and as a child Deep was obsessed with the show and main character Barna...

Johnny Depp Needed Help Going To The Bathroom On 'Dark Shadows' Set

May 8th, 2012 2:02pm EDT
Dark Shadows
Johnny Depp’s latest character, Barnabas Collins, required another dramatic physical transformation. The vampire from TV’s Dark Shadows is painted pale white, walks with a cane and has long vampire fingernails. So too does Johnny Depp in the film versions.

“In every film that I’ve been lucky enough to do with Tim [Burton], there’s always some form of torture, and the nails were Tim’s idea,” Depp said. “They were the length of the fingers and stuff, but it was okay because I had a troop of people who would help me go to the bathroom. They had to have treatment afterwards but they’re okay no...

Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Steven Tyler & More Celebs Attend 'Dark Shadows' Premiere

May 8th, 2012 12:00pm EDT
Johnny Depp
Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows" hits theaters on Friday, and several celebrities attended the red carpet premiere in Los Angeles on Monday.

The film centers on an imprisoned vampire, Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp), who is set free and returns to his ancestral home in the 1970s.

Depp wore a brown suit that matched his hair, and he accesorized with several necklaces (we can't expect him ever to go the traditional route with a tie.)

Aerosmith rocker and "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler also wore several chains around his neck. But all eyes were drawn to his funky bellbottom pants.

Michelle ...

May 1st, 2012 11:09am EDT
Michelle Pfeiffer
Michelle Pfeiffer was so desperate to star in the big screen remake of her favorite show Dark Shadows she pleaded director Tim Burton for a part.

Nevertheless, Pfeiffer was forced to wait for a year before finally getting the go-ahead to play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the matriarch of a vampire family.

She tells Empire magazine, "I was really uncomfortable doing it and I don't ...
