	Bryan Brown first caught my attention in Breaker Morant. Not mentioned in his bio is the great TV miniseries "A Town Like Alce" - a 6-hour saga of WWII Japanese prisoners in Malaya, and life afterwards for the Aussie prisoner and an English girl captured in Singapore when the Japanese invaded. The women are kept on constant move and meet during that ordeal. Their love over years of loss and separation never wavers, though it's hard to pick up again. He is stunning and totally believable in his role. This gem appeared on PBS and is available on VHS (I've had it for years) and probably DVD. And the music!
