Coen Brothers Continue To Collect A-List Stars For 'Hail, Caesar!'

July 10th, 2014 3:01pm EDT
Scarlett Johansson
Ethan and Joel Coen are slowly gathering a spectacular cast for their next film, Hail, Caesar!. Jonah Hill recently confirmed he's joined the project, and Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in negotiations.

According to Variety, the Coen brothers are working to cast the pregnant Johansson for the film, which is ironically about a 1950s actress who becomes pregnant just as her new film begins production. The movie will follow a "fixer" for the film studio who works to keep all of their stars out of trouble, and it sounds like this pregnant actress is the latest issue for him.

'Hey You Guys!' Director Richard Donner Says There's A 'Goonies' Sequel In The Works

April 7th, 2014 7:01pm EDT
The Goonies
Director Richard Donner announced over the weekend that he's currently working on a sequel to classic 80s kids film The Goonies.

A cameraman for TMZ.com caught up with the director in Beverly Hills on Saturday to ask him some ridiculously cynical questions about comic book movies, most of which Donner said are being made by some very creative and artistic people.

"We're doing a sequel," Donner said, surprising a small crowd that gathered around him for autographs.

When asked if any of the stars -- Corey Feldman, Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen, Jonathan Ke Quan, Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton and K...

'Labor Day' Review: An Erotic, Sensual Love Story And Perfect Da
Simply put, 'Labor Day' is a beautiful, erotic, love story - that will give you a very strong desire to eat a piece of pie.

'Labor Day' is directed and written by Jason Reitman ('Juno', 'Thank You For Smoking', 'Up In The Air') based on a novel by Joyce Maynard ('To Die For').

The film takes place in the 1980's over the Labor Day weekend, hence the title.

Kate Winslet plays Adele, a very lonely divorcee who lives with her teenage son Henry (Gattlin Griffith).  This is a woman that wears unhappiness on her face - she rarely goes out and when she does, it's usually to the local market. And...

December 28th, 2013 6:00pm EST
Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones
2013 was chock full of celebrity break-ups, divorces, and even reconciliations.

Michael Douglas, 69 and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, 44, took a temporary "break" from their 13-year marriage in August. They had their doubters when they wed due to their vast age difference but proved people wrong after staying together for more than a decade - a triumph in Hollywood.

In November, Douglas told reporters, "I hope to resolve my marriage in a positive fashion."

We're not sure what that means - have a peaceful divorce? Get back together? Who knows.

Check out other stars that split up (and so...

In A Year Of Box Office Bombs, 'Oldboy' Ranks Among The Worst

December 2nd, 2013 3:03pm EST
Oldboy
Did you see Oldboy over your Thanksgiving break? If you did, you're part of a select group.

Analysts looking back on 2013 may blame it for a change in the way Hollywood does business, thanks to the failure of several flops of "tent pole" films - the films studios lean on to make the largest percentage of their yearly profit. The Lone Ranger, R.I.P.D., and Jack the Giant Slayer all lost around $100 million apiece this year due to low ticket sales and high production budgets.

While Oldboy only cost about $30 million to make, it may go down as having the least return at the box office. How b...

The Hollywood Reporter held its annual actors roundtable with Matthew McConaughey, Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Jared Leto, Josh Brolin and Michael B. Jordan, and it was revealed Gyllenhaal had a shot at being Frodo in the acclaimed Lord of the Rings trilogy until he gave "literally one of the worst auditions."

The interviewer asked, "What's the strangest audition you have had?" Josh Brolin recalled a Fly 2 audition in which he writhed on the ground and frothed at the mouth (his ...

Broslin is also working with the studio for Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Gosling, on the other hand, seems to be attached to just about everything these days.

'Oldboy' Remake Red Band Trailer: Hallways And Claw Hammers

Oldboy
Can Spike Lee re-create Chan-Wook Park's gory, compelling, and acclaimed work Oldboy? The red band trailer of his remake suggests he has a pretty good shot.

Josh Brolin stars in the remake of the 2003 Korean hit, where he plays a man inexplicably held hostage for almost twenty years. His only access to the outside world is the small hole in the door where he is given food and a television that keeps him up to date on current events - flashes of newscasts covering 9/11, Katrina, and the murder of his wife (apparently he is the prime suspect) are interwoven with flashes of Brolin trying to k...

I didn’t end up watching “Battleship” last week, because I wasn’t in the mood to knowingly subject myself to a bad movie that night. Friends who caught it, told me that it’s as terrible as they thought it would be, giving it a D grade. There were very few fashion missteps at this year's event. "Homeland" actress Morena Baccarin wore a daring black dress that showed quite a bit of cleavage (is that appropriate?), while "Ringer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar took a chance with a blue and white tie-dyed gown (too bohemian?).

There wasn't a lot of flash on the red carpet. Few stars wore sequins (Laura Dern, Madonna, Diane Lane and did)...
