The Descendants
Alexander Payne's seriocomic "The Descendants," an adaptation of the novel by Kaui Hart Hemmings, stars George Clooney as Matt King, a middle-age Hawaiian who runs a trust responsible for millions of dollars worth of untouched real estate that has been passed down to him and various cousins.

He is preparing to sell the area, and make millions for everyone in the trust, when his wife suffers severe head trauma during a boat race. As he attempts to get her affairs in order, he learns that she had been having an affair.

'White Collar' Recap: 'Judgment Day' (3.16)

February 28th, 2012 11:09pm EST
White Collar
Can you believe it's the White Collar third-season finale already? And are you ready for the answer as to whether or not Neal will be a free man? Well, here we go...

While we open with Neal getting the particulars on the commutation hearing process in a room with no decor (because all important hearings on TV seem to happen in big, open rooms with no decor and are run by unlikable, interchangeable bureaucrats), Peter is stunned to hear that his pal Kramer (Beau Bridges) doesn't just have his sights set on luring Diana to Washington. He wants Neal there, too. Here I think, "Dude, ge...

'White Collar' Recap: 'Pulling Strings' (3.14)

February 7th, 2012 11:04pm EST
White Collar
This week's White Collar brings back some absent characters, introduces some new ones, and mixes them together to create a lackluster outing.

Elizabeth's birthday is coming up, and Peter wants the weekend off "unless someone dies or Neal does something big. Maybe not even if someone dies." He's leaving Diana in charge, even as Diana reveals that she's engaged to her girlfriend Christie. Sounds like everything is going grand, right? Well, until we start talking about a stolen Stradivarius violin...and Neal's now ex-girlfriend Sara Ellis, who thinks her boss Bryan (Bailey Chase) is t...

Q&A: 'White Collar' Star Tim DeKay

January 24th, 2012 1:00pm EST
Tim DeKay
There's a whole White Collar promo about Matt Bomer. But it would be criminal to overlook his co-star Tim DeKay, who's equally brilliant and just as important to the show's success.

His character, Special Agent Peter Burke, couldn't be more solid. Peter has a successful job at the FBI and a stable marriage to Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen). The role is a perfect fit for Tim, who's just as reliable as his character. He's got a long list of TV credits to his name, including a recent guest appearance on NBC's Chuck, being one of the good things about Law & Order: Los Angeles, and he'll always...

Beau Bridges Urging For Tighter Gun Control Laws

January 9th, 2012 8:01pm EST
Beau Bridges
A coffee shop hold-up has prompted actor Beau Bridges to urge politicians to fight for tighter gun control laws.

The Descendants star grew up hunting with his grandfather and he himself trained in the military with a rifle but Bridges is adamant America should foster stronger legislation, so weapons don't fall into the wrong hands.

And he has one terrifying experience to back up his concern.

He tells the New York Daily News, "Many years ago, probably when I was in my late 20s, I got held up at a little coffee shop in Los Angeles. I could feel the cold steel in between my eyes. It becomes...

Review: 'The Descendants' 'Two Jews On Film' Miss The Heart In Clooney's Latest Dramedy (Video)

November 14th, 2011 8:10pm EST
The Descendants
Two Jews on Film - By Joan Alperin-Schwartz: When 'The Descendants' directed by Alexander Payne (Sideways) started, I really expected to love it. I mean, the film is set in Hawaii, there's a woman in a coma, and it stars George Clooney.

Unfortunately, I had quite a different experience. I didn't hate this film, but I did find my mind wandering...thinking about my overweight dog that needs to go on a diet... Definitely not a good sign.

Okay, so here's the story... George Clooney plays Matt King. Matt is married but not the greatest of husbands. He has two children... but not the greates...

The grassroots campaign appeared about a week before the official "Psych" Facebook page cracked the 1 million member milestone on October 20. Dubbed "Psych Out SNL," the movement's own Facebook group states that the writers of USA's quirkily funny police procedural have given the undertaking their o...

Jeff Bridges fought back tears backstage at Sunday's Academy Awards as he paid tribute to his late father, after winning the Oscar for Best Actor.
