'Whose Line Is It Anyway' to Return on The CW

March 1st, 2013 4:24pm EST
Whose Line
The CW has ordered new episodes of the classic improv comedy TV series Whose Line Is It Anyway? to air this summer, the network announced today.

The new version of Whose Line will be hosted by comedienne Aisha Tyler (Archer) and will feature the return of show alums Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie and Wayne Brady. The fourth chair will be filled by as-yet-unannounced special guests.

The network's press release did not announce a premiere date or how many new episodes will air.

The new incarnation seems as if it will adhere closely to the previous version. Here's the network's description: "Pr...

Wayne Brady Wants You To 'Trust Us With Your Life'

July 9th, 2012 10:30am EDT
Wayne Brady
After achieving breakout stardom on Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Wayne Brady is back on ABC and once again making us laugh in Trust Us With Your Life, as part of a troupe of improv comedians that re-enact and sometimes skewer the lives of celebs from Ricky Gervais to the Osbournes.

As a member of the Whose Line cast, there's no doubt that Wayne acquitted himself well: excellent games of "Greatest Hits" and "African Chant" led into, among many things, a daytime talk show, a musical album, a Las Vegas comedy show and hosting jobs on shows like Celebrity Duets, Don't Forget The Lyrics! and his c...

SPOILER ALERT! Bomb Dropped On New 'HIMYM'

November 22nd, 2011 9:48am EST
cobie smulders
Monday’s new HIMYM, “The Rebound Girl,” began with Lily and Marshall preparing to once again host Thanksgiving dinner and ended with a huge revelation.

Marshall and Lily had recently been given Lily’s grandparents’ house on Long Island. They were now forced to decide to either sell it or move. Their original idea was to sell, but after spending some time in the house, their Manhattan apartment seemed a little cramped. They decide to host Thanksgiving out in Long Island and give everyone a chance to check out the place.

Meanwhile, a forlorn Ted and recently rejected Barney were bemo...

New 'HIMYM' - Are You Dating Your Mom?

October 25th, 2011 10:43am EDT
barney stinson
In Monday’s all-new HIMYM, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) realizes that his new girlfriend Nora (Nazanin Boniadi) is a lot like his mother. Will it be a deal breaker?

Last week Robin’s (Cobie Smulders) new boyfriend Kevin (Kal Penn), who is a therapist, pointed out that the group had a lot of issues. These included Ted (Josh Radnor) and Marshall’s separation anxiety, Robin’s trust issues, Barney’s pathological lying and denial, and the whole group’s generally abnormal social behavior. My apologies to my thousands of fans for not getting around to doing a recap for last week’s episode (del...

However, the shows look set to dominate the 38th annual Daytime Emmys - All My Children, which has 13 nominations, is up for Outstanding Drama Series, competing against The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital and The Young and the Restle...

The Best Of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?'

April 11th, 2011 11:00am EDT
Whose Line
As Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza premieres on GSN tonight (8 PM & 11 PM ET/PT), we can't help but think of all the fond memories we have of some of the same cast on Whose Line Is It Anyway? In tribute, my colleague Jennifer Decker and I have each selected our five favorite moments (in no particular order) from Whose Line.

Note: For the purposes of simplicity and space, this list refers only to the American (ABC) version of Whose Line Is It Anyway? We have a deep affection for the original UK series (hi, Clive Anderson!) but if we included it, we'd be here all day.

'Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza' Advance Review

March 29th, 2011 11:45am EDT
Drew Carey's Improv
I still have fond memories of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, the half-hour improvisational comedy series that began as a UK edition from 1988-1998, and then an American version from 1998-2004 on ABC (in fact, reruns still air on ABC Family). When Whose Line was on, almost everyone I knew was watching it. Now GSN is giving us the next best thing: Drew Carey's Improv-A-Ganza, another half-hour comedy series that features many of the Whose Line performers.

Seriously, you've seen most of these people before. Aside from Carey, the cast includes Whose Line regulars Jeff Davis, Chip Esten, Greg P...

Vanessa Hudgens Is A Drug Addict

August 9th, 2010 2:00pm EDT
Vanessa Hudgens
No, Vanessa Hudgens isn't a drug addict - she's just playing one in the Hollywood Bowl production of the hit musical "Rent."

Hudgens took on the role of Mimi alongside fellow stars Wayne Brady and Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls.

The musical marked "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris' stage directorial debut and played for three nights.

Vanessa has been furthering herself from her clean-cut Disney image after starring in the "High School Musical" movies and is now looking toward starring in more 'adult' roles. She's set to star in "300" director Zack Snyder's latest...

'30 Rock' Recap: The Most Schizophrenic Episode Ever…

January 9th, 2009 10:22am EST
30 Rock
Liz is still baby crazy as the seventh episode of 30 Rock's third season finally returns after an extended holiday hiatus, and suddenly there are babies everywhere- from the Rockefeller Plaza lobby to the sidewalk outside.

She taps the head of what she assumes to be a little boy, only to have Peter Dinklage turn around and hit on her because he likes "aggressive, slightly nerdy" women. Probably because she is afraid of seeming like… height-ist, just the way Wayne Brady thought she was racist when she wanted to break up with him in season one, she agrees to go for a drink with the rand...

Celebrity Horoscope: Gemini

May 22nd, 2008 8:30am EDT
Angelina Jolie
Gemini (May 22-June 21) are said to have a dual nature. The astrological symbol for Gemini is the Roman numeral for two, representing twins and duality.

Twin sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are Geminis. Last year the 21-year-old power duo earned $17 million, and they are planning on releasing a coffee table book about their fashion inspirations.

Gemini can be fickle. Those born under this sign represent the yin and the yang, or the law of opposites. It can be no coincidence that Anne Heche is a Gemini. She famously dated Ellen DeGeneres but later married a man. She di...

Top 10 MADtv Actors

May 5th, 2008 8:30am EDT
Dan Chruscinski
Previously filmed in Los Angeles, it's Saturday night. Never quite catching on with the same fervor as its New York competition, MADtv has still carved a niche for itself appealing to a younger demographic who favor repeat characters and dead-on celebrity impersonations over topical sketches. Like Saturday Night Live though, "MADtv" has had some fantastic cast members during its 13-year tenure as well as some real clunkers. Why focus on the bad though when we can celebrate the good. Some of these actors have gone on to mediocre careers; others still remain stuck in obscurity. Here are the ...
