Jennifer Connolly will attend next month's Academy Awards ceremony alone because her husband Paul Bettany will be too busy filming. Connolly will attend the prestigious Los Angeles event to support her new movie Blood Diamond in the Best Picture category, but Bettany will be shooting Inkheart in England.

Newlywed Nicole Kidman is set to star as Mrs. Coulter in "The Golden Compass," the film version of the first of Philip Pullman's bestselling "His Dark Materials" trilogy. Movie-maker Chris Weitz will direct the $150 million production at London's Shepperton Studios this autumn.
