31 Days Of Horror: "Little Shop of Horrors" Double Feature

October 13th, 2010 3:24pm EDT
The Little Shop of Horrors (1960)
Continuing on with a similar theme from Monday is a Little Shop of Horrors double bill, first with the 1960 low-budget original, directed by a hesitant Roger Corman, followed by the 1986 film adaptation of the Alan Menken and Howard Ashman penned Off-Broadway musical. Both are funny, neither is particularly horrific, and while one has a very young Jack Nicholson, the other has Bill Murray—so it’s a bit of a toss-up as to which is the better killer plant movie.

By the late 50s Roger Corman had already hit his monster movie stride, churning out an unbelievable number of B-movies for paltry s...

Presenting Starpulse's quick-and-dirty guide to this fall's new CBS programming.

First, the new:

Mike & Molly, Mon. Sept. 20, 9:30/8:30 CST -- America's obesity epidemic has left a lot us a bit fluffier, and "Mike & Molly" might be CBS's attempt to deliver a show we can relate to. The main characters, played by Billy Gardell ("Yes, Dear") and Melissa McCarthy ("Gilmore Girls"), meet at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting, fall for each other, and deal with the modern-day problems overweight couples face. Time will tel...

10 Worst TV Shows Of The Last 10 Years

January 25th, 2008 1:52pm EST
According to Jim
There have been some truly phenomenal television shows produced over the last 10 years. Works of art that will continue to be appreciated and discussed for years to come. But what's the fun in talking about that?

For each great show created since 1998, there have been at least five or six terrible ones. Often these truly odious programs have a mercifully short lifespan. Occasionally, one will unexpectedly survive and thrive, shining proudly on screen and mocking the infinitely more creative, entertaining and intelligent programs that it has outlasted.

Acknowledging the fac...
