'The Good Wife' Review: 'Tying The Knot'

April 28th, 2014 8:37am EDT
'The Good Wife' Review: 'Tying The Knot'
You could call this the "reunion" episode of The Good Wife. Should be future Emmy winner Josh Charles is back, directing the action, while Dylan Baker once again reprises his role as the show's creepiest client, Colin Sweeney. The result is an installment that's kind of like Clue, except without the three different endings.

Needing a very important signature on some merger paperwork, Alicia gets roped into Sweeney's engagement party and stuck having to convince his equally bizarre fiancee Renata (played by Laura Benanti, previously seen as Det. Nick Amaro's wife Marie on Law & Order: Speci...

Forgotten Friday Flick - 'Happiness' - With Philip Seymour Hoffman

February 7th, 2014 10:45am EST
Happiness
Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman passed last Sunday and the cinema world has lost a great talent. And since his body of work is filled with so many amazing performances and memorable characters, I thought I would pay tribute to the work of the man by highlighting the one film I consider to be the best of the bunch – welcome to Forgotten Friday Flick. This week we take a look at the world through the skewered mind of writer/director Todd Solondz via a sick, twisted and delightfully funny flick that had both critics and audiences aghast. Taking on taboo subjects like pedophilia, sexual repress...

'White Collar' Recap: 'Upper West Side Story' (3.12)

January 24th, 2012 11:03pm EST
White Collar
Oh, White Collar. I love you for your ridiculous charm.

The case of the week sees Neal and Peter approached about potential embezzlement at upper-crust Manhattan Prep. The lead suspect is Andy Woods (Dylan Baker, who's played a bad guy so often we should just assume he's the villain every time he shows up), who's in charge of the school's endowment and may have cartel ties. To check him out, our dynamic duo goes undercover, which leads to plenty of entertaining shenanigans.

Just minutes after their arrival, Neal gets mistaken for a substitute teacher, but rolls with it when he s...

'Burn Notice' 5.01 'Company Man' Recap and Review

June 23rd, 2011 10:05pm EDT
Burn Notice
Burn Notice is back, and the burning (pardon the pun) question on my mind was how the show will follow one heck of a fourth season. The answer? It's not shabby at all.

At the end of last season, Michael was welcomed back to the CIA by Raines (Dylan Baker, sporting a beard since we saw him then). We get a quick rundown of all the things he's been doing since that handshake, complete with spiffy graphics. All that work has led Michael to Canada, where he's looking sharp and meeting Max (Melrose Place's Grant Show). Michael's burn notice hasn't been officially lifted, so he's just a...

DVD Purgatory: 'Trick 'R Treat' Starring Anna Paquin Is Worth The Hype

October 10th, 2009 9:53am EDT
Trick
In between box-office heaven and unreleased hell lies DVD Purgatory, where movies with popular actors, big budgets and bigger problems rest in eternal damnation on the shelves of your local Blockbuster. Each month we'll take a look at one of these lost souls and figure out what went wrong. This month's unfortunate victim is "Trick 'R Treat."

It's no big mystery why movie studios continually crank out horror movies. They're cheap to produce and usually make a tidy profit when all is said and done. It's easy money, which is part of the reason why we're up to "Saw 6".

Most of today's hor...

Zombies Become Domesticated In The Satirical 'Fido'

May 8th, 2007 8:30pm EDT
Fido
Welcome to Willard, a small town lost in the idyllic world of the 50's, where the sun shines every day, everybody knows their neighbor, and rotting zombies deliver the mail.

Years ago, the earth passed through a cloud of space dust, causing the dead to rise with a craving for human flesh. A war began, pitting the living against the dead. In the ensuing revolution, a corporation was born: ZomCon, who defeated the legions of undead, and domesticated the zombies, making them our industrial workers, our domestic servants - a productive part of society. ZomCon would like the people of Wil...
