Following Harold Ramis' death on Monday, several friends and co-stars have come forward to pay tribute to the the actor, writer and filmmaker. Ramis, 69, died from complications of a rare blood disease.

Bill Murray, who starred with Ramis in several classic films during the 80s and 90s, issued a statement reading: "Harold Ramis and I together did the National Lampoon Show off Broadway, Meatballs, Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day. Renowned thespian Dan Aykroyd has been sworn in as a sheriff's deputy in Mississippi.

The 61 year-old actor, who studied criminal justice in college, asked Hinds County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis if he could join the reserve department and his request was granted.

Bill Murray refused three offers to be involved in the much-anticipated "Ghostbusters" sequel, according to former co-star Dan Aykroyd.

Earlier this week actor Harold Ramis reportedly said that Murray was back on board for the third installment of the film, but his comment has was revealed to be a hoax.

Veteran actor Charles Napier has died at the age of 75.

The Blues Brothers star passed away on Wednesday at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield, California.

His death came 24 hours after he was found collapsed at his home and transferred to the medical facility, where he was put on life support in the intensive care unit, according to the Hollywood Reporter. His cause of death was not known as WENN went to press.

Dan Aykroyd has been left counting the cost of a massive theft which saw over 21,000 bottles of his vodka brand stolen from a warehouse in California.

The Ghostbusters star is a founder of the Crystal Head Vodka company, which sells the spirit in extravagant bottles shaped like crystal skulls.
