April 7th, 2014 7:01pm EDT
The Goonies
Director Richard Donner announced over the weekend that he's currently working on a sequel to classic 80s kids film The Goonies.

A cameraman for TMZ.com caught up with the director in Beverly Hills on Saturday to ask him some ridiculously cynical questions about comic book movies, most of which Donner said are being made by some very creative and artistic people.

"We're doing a sequel," Donner said, surprising a small crowd that gathered around him for autographs.

When asked if any of the stars -- Corey Feldman, Sean Astin, Jeff Cohen, Jonathan Ke Quan, Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton and K...

'The Goonies 25th Anniversary Collector's Edition' On DVD & Blu-ray Nov. 2

November 2nd, 2010 6:52am EDT
Goonies
Leonard Maltin wasn't alone when he noticed similarities between "Goonies" and the 1934 Our Gang comedy "Mama's Little Pirate." Adapted by Chris Columbus from a story by Steven Spielberg, the film follows a group of misfit kids (including such second-generation Hollywoodites as Josh Brolin and Sean Astin) as they search for buried treasure in a subterranean cavern.

Here they cross the path of lady criminal Mama Fratelli (Anne Ramsey) and her outlaw brood. Fortunately, the kids manage to befriend Fratelli's hideously deformed (but soft-hearted) son (John Matuszak), who comes to their rescu...

A Celebration Of Classics From 1985
It's difficult to believe the first month of 2010 is already over, considering it just felt like yesterday that I was ringing in the new decade. The end of January signals that the year is truly starting to pick up pace, but before it does I thought it might be appropriate to look back a little bit, well 25 years to be exact.

I'm going to climb into my cinematic time machine, as I frequently like to do, and travel back to 1985, one year before my own birth, to discuss some of its top grossing movies. Compared to some of the top grossing stories of the modern era, many of 1985's most ...

The Best Inspirational Sports Films

November 19th, 2009 8:54pm EST
Blind Side
Sports movies generally come in one of two flavors: comedic efforts featuring a ragtag group of players coming together to achieve success or dramatic situations revolving around a semi-tragic or extremely difficult obstacle that stands in the way of achieving success.

"The Blind Side," which opens Friday, definitely falls into the latter category.

Based on Michael Lewis' novel, the movie adaptation focuses in on one particular story in the book - the rise of Michael Oher, an offensive lineman who went from living on the streets to becoming a first-round draft pick in this year's NFL...

In no particular order, here is a look at some of the best and worst films that are based off books:
