In a change of pace, I have already seen one of the week's upcoming movies ahead of time: "Ninja Assassin." As per my expectations, the film places a lesser emphasis on plot and a higher one on intense action sequences.

While the plot isn't horrendous, many of its aspects are not as well developed as they should have been. The quality of the action starts to make up this, but it's not enough to save the film.

Eddie Murphy's aides have hit back at reports the actor/comedian stormed out of the Oscars on Sunday after losing out to Alan Arkin - insisting her had always planned to leave after his category was announced.

Murphy, who was a favorite, left the Kodak theater in Hollywood minutes after Arkin claimed gold for Best Supporting Actor - but his handlers claim Murphy would have left even if he had won.

Jennifer Hudson was stunned when Eddie Murphy lost the Best Supporting Actor award at the Oscar ceremony on Sunday and feared the members of the Academy had turned against the film.

Murphy was heavily favored to take home the prize but lost out to Little Miss Sunshine star Alan Arkin.

Hudson claims she was nervous about her nomination for Best Supporting Actress in the film and Murphy's loss added to her feelings of insecurity.
