Horror Fans Flock To 'Paranormal Activity 3'

October 24th, 2011 8:31am EDT
Paranormal Activity 3
The second "Paranormal Activity" sequel has scared up big audiences in America, grossing a staggering $54 million in its opening weekend.

The critically-acclaimed horror film has ended "Real Steel's" two-week run at the top of the U.S. box office.

Other new releases fared poorly - director Paul W.S. Anderson's "The Three Musketeers" revamp and Rowan Atkinson's "Johnny English Reborn" were big flops.

The Three Musketeers grossed a disappointing $8.8 million and comedy "Johnny English Reborn" made only $3.8 million at the box office.

A number of extras and crewmembers working on director Paul W.S. Anderson's new Resident Evil film have been hospitalized following a set collapse in Canada on Tuesday.

Cameras stopped rolling on the Toronto set in the early hours of Tuesday when a wheeled platform inside the Cinespace Film Studios crashed to the ground, injuring actors dressed as zombies and four members of the production team.

Emergency services were called to the scene, although they had trouble establishing how badly the actors had been hurt due to the fake bandages and blood they were covered with for their roles a...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Resident Evil Afterlife,' 'The Virginity Hit,' & More

Resident Evil Afterlife

It was not long afterward, that viewers demanded that “Machete” be made into a feature length film however it took Rodriguez a couple of years to make the project happen.

“Machete” is delightfully over-the-top with its many explosions and extensive gore that skillfully pay homage to the exploitation ...

Taking Your Joystick To The Movies: Video Games That Should Be Made Into Films

January 18th, 2008 11:32am EST
Metal Gear Solid
Let's face it, video game movies usually suck (see article here). For every guilty pleasure such as Resident Evil there is a House of the Dead, Street Fighter, and Mario Brothers stinking up this niche genre. What keeps going wrong?

What I'm here to do, gentle reader, is provide you with a list of video games that I think could become potentially worthwhile movies. This is, of course, assuming they aren't made by Paul Anderson or Uwe Boll.

We don't need big-name stars or directors. All it would really take is a production team who took the source material seriously and a cast th...
