'Arrow' Star Joins Cast Of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2'

4/1/2015 4:22pm EDT
Stephen Amell
Arrow star Stephen Amell just joined the cast of next summer's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel.

The actor confirmed the news on his Twitter and Facebook pages, revealing that he'll be playing the hockey mask-wearing vigilante and turtle ally Casey Jones.

"Somebody find me a hockey mask!!!" he tweeted with an image of the character.

"What a fantastic day. Honored to play Casey Jones in #TMNT2," he added on Facebook.

The Toronto native landed the role over the weekend after screen testing with Megan Fox, who will reprise her role as reporter April O'Neil in the sequel, according to Va...

'Arrow' Recap: 'Suicidal Tendencies' Ends In A Cliffhanger

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Wedding-Worthy Moments From 'Suicidal Tendenci
You know, for an episode about Diggle ("Suicidal Tendencies" was about Diggle, wasn't it?), there wasn't too much Diggle in last night's episode of "Arrow."

Sure, "Suicidal Tendencies" was loaded down with the coolness -- the Arrow fought the Atom, people died, and Olicity was destroyed forever... or at least for at least a few episodes, anyway.

But Diggle and Lyla's honeymoon in war-torn Kasnia was the weakest chunk of the episode by far (oooh, that senator guy was really evil. Greeat) while the sidestories got all the coolest bits.

At least the cool bits were as awesome as they were la...

10 Badass Moments From Last Nights 'Arrow'

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Badass Moments From 'The Offer'
"Arrow's" back from hiatus! And while "The Offer" may not have blazed in with the same DEAR GOD factor as "The Flash's" "Out of Time" last night, that's not to say "The Offer" was a weak outing. Just not one that includes 800 plot twists.

Team Arrow tensions rise, Ra's al Ghul's endgame creeps closer, and Merlyn just kinda dozed on the couch the whole time. Shall we count 'em down?

10. Ra's al Ghul's Sales Pitch!

Oliver Queen becoming the next Ra's al Ghul sounds... well, a little ridiculous. But we've gotta say, Ra's makes a pretty convincing argument.

As Ra's al Ghul 2.0, Oliver could...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Killer Moments From 'Nanda Parbat'
"Nanda Parbat" is the last "Arrow" we're getting for about a month. Naturally, that means cliffhangers, and the last ten minutes (ish) of "Nanda Parbat" were crammed full of 'em.

Naturally, this episode's left us with a lot of questions to linger over in the next month.

Will Oliver really be the next Ra's al Ghul? Will Nyssa side with good or evil after learning the truth about Sara's death? Will the Atom resemble the actual, comic-book Atom in any way, or just be Ray Palmer in an Iron Man suit?

For the record, we're going with: no, yes, no. Now let's count down the best moments from "Na...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Bromantic Moments From 'The Return'
Compared to this week's episode of "The Flash" (which brought out every single major storyline the show's been working towards, then exploded them with a psychic gorilla), our corresponding "Arrow" episode comes off a little subdued.

That's not entirely fair, because "The Return" is nowhere near subdued.

The action was top-notch, and there was plenty of it. Other than a few moments with Laurel, everything was either Oliver kickin' butt with Maseo in the past, or kickin' butt with Thea in the present.

In both cases, Oliver got to strengthen his emotional bonds. He and Thea definitely seem...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Can't-Stop-Sobbing Moments From 'Left Behind'
We kinda figured that this first post-midseason-finale episode of "Arrow" would be an intense one.

Oliver Queen did die, after all. That's cause for some intense emotions to bubble up to the surface of this already very emotional superhero show.

But by no means were we expecting that much emotion. "Left Behind" was like a superhero funeral dirge. The equivalent of a small mountain of superhero-strength Kleenex.

Some serious sad times.

Alright, enough moping around- let's get to this week's list.

10. Diggle is the New Arrow?

It sure seemed that way, didn't it. Crooks are doing crook-li...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Heart-Stopping Moments From 'The Climb'
Oh, mid-season finale cliffhangers. How cruel you are.

But few are as cruel as "Arrow"- because we can't even call "The Climb's" ending a "cliffhanger." That implies Oliver still had the hand strength to hang off a cliff edge, and at the end of this hour he was way too stabbed-to-death to handle that.

Really, this is more of a cliff-flopper. Cliff-dier, maybe.

But it was a pretty intense way to end a year of "Arrow," so let's not overthink the semantics. Instead, let's get down to the last "Arrow" countdown of 2014.

10. The League of Assassins Goes Kill-Crazy!

Ra's al Ghul is not a pat...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Flashtastic Moments From 'The Brave And The Bo
Oh, if only every week could be "Flash vs. Arrow" crossover week (although given the CW's potential plans to integrate "Supergirl" into the Arrowverse, we're looking at a very real future where there is an "Arrow"-brand series on every night of the week).

But that's a long way away, and also probably not real. For now, we've got "The Brave and the Bold," where Barry, Cisco and Caitlin (no Dr. Wells, sadly- too evil) head to Starling City to assist Team Arrow with a criminal of their own.

And, like "The Flash's" time in the crossover sun, it's a CW superhero fan's beautiful dream. Let's be...

'Flash vs. Arrow' Recap: The Flash And Arrow Swap Punches, Super
In theory, "Arrow" and "The Flash" should be the perfect pairing. One's relentlessly dark and grim, the other's a cheery comic book come to life. Also, the CW's been hyping this thing like no tomorrow. Does "Flash vs. Arrow" live up to the hype?

Good heavens, yes.

As per usual with "The Flash," there's a metahuman loose in Central City. This time, it's Roy G. Bivolo. Oliver Queen might not be a fan of giving menacing villains kooky names, but in this case, it's kind of necessary. Because Roy G. Bivolo. So instead, let's call him Chroma.

Chroma's running amok, using his glowing red eyes t...

Arrow
Do we have an overarching storyline for this season of "Arrow" yet? Season one was Robert Queen's little black book and the Dark Archer, while season two was Slade Wilson's revenge. Season three seems like it'll hinge on Sara's murder in the same way, except that story seems to have faltered recently.

Roy's innocent (well, innocent of Sara's murder, anyway), and the case has gone cold. We're closing in on the season's halfway point- things should hopefully pick up soon, and we'll see just what "Arrow" has planned for the long haul.

But for now, a villain-of-the-week story like "Draw Back...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Boxing Glove Arrow-Worthy Moments From 'Guilty
You know what? Let's just get this out of the way first.

BOXING-GLOVE-ARROW-BOXING-GLOVE-ARROW-BOXING-GLOVE-ARROW!!

That felt good.

A lot of plot momentum on this week's "Arrow"- Laurel and Ted upgrade from boxing lessons to vigilante lessons, Roy gets a legit superhero name and we get an answer on that whole "did Roy kill Sara?" thing. But most of all, a man got punched by another man while they were across the room from each other.

"Guilty" might have erred a bit too far on the cheesy side, but it's impossible to complain when boxing glove arrows are involved.

So with that in mind...

'Arrow': 10 Mind-Blowing Moments From 'The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak'

The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak
Felicity doesn't get too many episodes to herself, does she? And she definitely doesn't get flashbacks. So just on that alone, "The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak" is an "Arrow" outing that stands tall above the rest.

Also, it wins major points in the "Coolest Episode Title of the Season" competition (not that there were any other real contenders. "The Magician?" Pass).

But more than that, "The Secret Origin" was another "Arrow" jammed with gasp-worthy moments and solid character work. Even if the action wasn't too hot this time around. Now let's dig into this week's list.

'Arrow' Season 3 Premiere Recap: Top 10 Moments From 'The Calm'
"Arrow" is not a show that deals in subtleties. If it was, "The Calm" would probably have been titled something else and not "The Calm," a giant neon-red clue that this will be an episode where everyone is happy and serene, but then things go horribly wrong.

Which is exactly what happens in "The Calm."

Although to "Arrow's" credit, at least next week's episode is titled "Sara" and not "The Storm." That'd probably be a bit too much.

But more important than any title was the stuff within "The Calm"- stuff that was tense and exciting and set up all kinds of craziness that'll surely develop ...

The writers shot Yow Fei in the bleeping head. I'm devastated. I felt rage over Yow Fei's untimely demise, over Fyres blatant lies, and the unsettling fact that Yow Fei will take the fall for the horrible terrorist attacks to come. I felt for Shado as she realized what just happened in front of her very own eyes. I wished Oliver was as badass five years ago as he is now so that he could escape without effort and then take out Fyres entire crew in less th...

Q&A: 'Hung' Star Stephen Amell

It's been said that a hero is only as good as their antagonist. On HBO's Hung, that juicy role falls to actor Stephen Amell, who recently sat down with me to dish about the series.

Amell plays Jason, who is the chief competition of Hung's main character, Ray Drecker. He's got a winning smile but a lot more going on behind it.
