Casey Affleck Sued For Sexual Harassment

July 24th, 2010 12:00pm EDT
Casey Affleck
Actor Casey Affleck has been accused of sexual harassment by a producer of his quirky documentary about brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix's attempts to become a rap star.

Amanda White claims Affleck acted inappropriately while directing I'm Still Here and she is suing him for $2 million.

In papers filed in Los Angeles on Friday, White alleges she endured "uninvited and unwelcome sexual advances in the workplace" while making the movie.

She claims Affleck referred to women as 'cows' and discussed his sexual exploits in front of her. The producer also alleges Affleck, who is married to Phoeni...

Film Company Buys Into Joaquin Phoenix Documentary
Remember in 2008 when Joaquin Phoenix seemed to go off the deep end? He announced his retirement from acting on his knuckles, launched a rap career and grew a pretty awesome looking homeless man beard.

Apparently Magnolia Pictures has acquired the film "I'm Still Here: The Lost Year Of Joaquin Phoenix" which was filmed and directed by brother in law Casey Affleck. The film will hit theaters on September 10 of this year with plans to go wide the following week.

Was the whole thing a prank or was it real? Apparently there is some pretty outlandish stuff in this film that leaves the viewer u...

Jonah Hill Made Casey Affleck Pee All Over Himself

May 27th, 2010 11:48pm EDT
Jonah Hill
Funnyman Jonah Hill once mistook Casey Affleck for a drunken pal in a hotel restroom - and made the actor pee all over himself.

The "SuperBad" star was doing some underage drinking at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel years ago when he decided to play a trick on his friend Schmidt when he spotted him at a urinal during a trip to the toilet.

He says, "We used to play this game called earthquake, which is where you violently shake whoever is peeing at the urinal and scream out 'earthquake' as loud as you can.

"So Schmidt's peeing there and I'm really drunk and I grabbed his shoulders... and I'm ...

Kate Hudson Giggled Through Spanking Scene

May 17th, 2010 1:00pm EDT
Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson struggled to film a disturbing scene in new movie The Killer Inside Me - because she couldn't stop laughing as her co-star Casey Affleck spanked her.

The actress takes a serious turn in the dark crime film, in which she plays the girlfriend of a psychotic killer, played by Affleck. However, she found it difficult to make one graphic scene, in which she is spanked while lying semi-naked on a bed, seem convincing.

She explains, "There were a couple (of spankings) in there when I thought, 'God, Casey!' He got a bit of power behind it. It was definitely real. It depends on your ...

April 30th, 2010 4:31pm EDT
Kate Hudson
There have been rampant rumors about Kate Hudson getting breast enhancements, being pregnant, or gaining weight recently. Well, she was spotted in New York City yesterday for an event held by jewelers Chopard looking her usual perky self in a pretty purple dress with spagetti straps. Does she look bigger up there?

Take a look at the photos, and you decide.

The actress stars in the upcoming film "The Killer Inside Me" - an unflinching, psychosexual post-noir that stars Casey Affleck as Deputy Sheriff Lou Ford, a stoic small-town lawman leading a secret life as a serial killer.

Matt Damon is feeling the pressure of playing tragic U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy in a forthcoming biopic, because the role comes with "a lot of responsibility."

Damon is in talks to play the politician who was assassinated in 1968, just five years after his brother President John F. Kennedy was gunned down in Dallas, Texas. The movie will be directed by "Seabiscuit" helmer Gary Ross, and based on Evan Thomas' biography of Kennedy, titled His Life.

Damon has confirmed he'll take the starring role if he likes the script, but admits he's intimidated by the prospect of playing Kennedy.

The Toast Of Beantown: Boston's Best Movies

October 30th, 2009 10:32am EDT
The Boondock Saints
In 1999, Troy Duffy showed audiences that New York City isn't the only major metropolitan place where mob violence and nefarious dealings happen on film. Using Boston as a backdrop for his cult hit "Boondock Saints," Duffy gave the city a gritty image that reignited interest in the area.

"Boondock Saints" follows the MacManus brothers, a pair of vigilantes who decide to carry out their own brand of violent justice on the criminals of Boston. As a proud Boston resident, I'm thrilled to announce the premiere today of "Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day," which brings the MacManus brother...

Unexpected Celebrity Career Changes

April 7th, 2009 9:30am EDT
Joaquin Phoenix
In the celebrity world, career dabbling is a relatively common occurrence. Once a person has risen to celebrity status, they have easy access to the necessary resources, such as agents, publicists, and various other in-the-biz connections, that will allow them to change careers almost as often as they change their bed sheets - think celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Hilary Duff who oscillate between being actresses and singers. Career changes like these are made especially possible in today's celebrity world thanks to contraptions like auto-tune, which has lead to the replacement of talen...

"I'm not going to be worried about what people think that my life is and I've never conducted myself that way. What people think has...

Famous June Brides: Happily Ever After?

June 3rd, 2008 8:30am EDT
Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban
Historically, some married in the month of June to honor Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage. Others did it to time conception so births wouldn't interfere with harvest work. Brides in the 15th century chose to marry in June because it coincided with their "annual bath" - you read right - thus ensuring a relatively sweet-smelling honeymoon.

Centuries later, June has remained the most popular month to wed. In MGM's 1954 Academy Award-winning musical, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers the song "June Bride" trills: "Oh, they say when you marry in June, you're a bride all your life."

In no particular order, here is a look at some of the best and worst films that are based off books:

Joe Wright directed the 2007 film "Atonement," which is based off of Ian McEwan's critically acclaimed novel. James...
