Ben Affleck invited his wife Jennifer Garner to join him on Saturday Night Live over the weekend (18-19May13) as he poked fun at his infamous Oscars speech, which sparked rumours of marriage trouble.

Affleck prompted speculation about problems at home when he thanked Garner for "working on our marriage for 10 Christmases" after scooping an Academy Award for Argo in February (13) - but he played up the gossip for laughs during his hosting gig on the U.S. sketch show.

Philanthropic actor Ben Affleck has teamed up with a footwear brand to design a limited edition shoe collection in aid of his Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI) charity.

The Argo director, who founded ECI in order to help communities in the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo, has collaborated with TOMS shoes to create the line, made from brightly colored Congolese Textiles.

Brown University is bestowing an honory doctorate degree on Ben Affleck. The actor/director will officially be known as "Doctor" Affleck on May 26 during the college's commencement ceremony.

Ben Affleck plans on living on just $1.50 per day next week after teaming up with poverty-awareness campaign Live Below the Line.

The non-profit group's goal is to raise awareness and give people "a glimpse into the lives of 1.4 billion people who have no choice but to live below the line every day — and who have to make $1.50 cover a lot more than food."

Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev attended the same prestigious school that movie stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck both graduated from.

Tsarnaev received a $2500 scholarship to the Cambridge Latin and Rindge School in Cambridge, Mass., two years ago, according to Boston.com. Affleck's younger brother Casey, Former NBA star Patrick Ewing, actress Traci Bingham and poet E.E. Cummings also attended the highly regarded public school.
