'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Intent' - Harvey Loves Donna

'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Intent' - Harvey Loves Donna
Donna's in trouble. Must be Wednesday. That's the general feeling behind this week's Suits, as "Intent" picks up the storyline from last week's "Derailed" and carries the show through into next week's season finale. Unfortunately, it drops a few things along the way (and we're not just talking about those words).

While Mike assures his whistleblower Joe that victory over Liberty Rail is certain, Harvey has driven down to Donna's apartment building to confront her about being caught on camera procuring the files that led to that victory. After chewing her out, he then hunts down his associa...

Suits is breaking all kinds of ground this season. After Gabriel Macht made his directorial debut with "Enough is Enough," now it's Patrick J. Adams' turn to step behind the camera for "Derailed," which continues the plotline established in "Respect" while continuing to manipulate the various secrets kept by our main characters to show us more about them for another week. But is its big plot twist the right call?

Mike and Rachel's domestic happiness is spoiled once again, this time by Henry Gerard (Stephen Macht) asking for a meeting, immediately and with no explanation. He tells Mike that...

Patrick J. Adams Directs, Tricia Helfer Guest Stars In Wednesday
This week's Suits is one that you definitely don't want to miss. Not only does one series regular accomplish a career first, but the episode's major guest star is absolutely worth getting excited about.

Patrick J. Adams moves behind the camera on Wednesday to make his directorial debut with "Derailed," which is significant not just for the SAG Award nominee but also for the show itself.

In addition to it being Patrick's first TV episode as a director, he becomes the second Suits cast member to make their helming debut in a mere four weeks - as his co-star Gabriel Macht directed the midsea...

'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Fork In The Road' - Let's Do The Flas
The flashback episode has become something of an institution on Suits, and "Fork in the Road" is the series' latest attempt to show us something insightful about the characters' present by going back into their past. This time, it's understanding the acrimony that led us to the firm's latest upheaval by showing us how Harvey and Louis got at each other's throats in the first place.

But first, here's Rachel taking Donna out for drinks and Game of Thrones references. Really, she wants to let Donna know how Louis wants to repair their friendship. Elsewhere, Harvey and Jessica are drinking too...

Preview Wednesday's Flashback Episode Of 'Suits' With This Clip
Tomorrow nights's episode of Suits is the show's next flashback episode, which means you know that it'll involve some juicy reveals about what shaped the characters of Pearson Specter Litt.

For Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), his flashback involves the appearance of a great guest star: Pretty Little Liars star (and also star of the WIGS web series Lauren) Troian Bellisario.

Suits fans know that the two previously worked together on PLL, and now they're together again on this show - and we've got a clip of one of their scenes together to share with you.

In the first episode of Suits officially PLL (Post Louis Litt), more familiar faces come out of the woodwork and Louis discovers that name partnership isn't all it's cracked up to be. Thus are a few lessons learned in "Respect," as in nobody is getting enough of it. Cue Aretha Franklin and hold on tight.

There's still fallout happening from last week. Harvey and Jessica are having another conversation on the rooftop, this one about Jeff and what he doesn't really know, and how that plays further into Louis's hands by giving him the ability to make or break Jessica's relationship with Jeff....

In this week's episode of Suits, we witness the metaphorical eye of the hurricane. While Mike and Harvey find themselves able to get along for a brief while, everybody else's machinations make that truce short-lived before an even bigger wedge is driven between them, and Rachel finally cracks under the pressure. It raises an important question: how much can all these people take? Or did everyone finally pick a fight that nobody can win?

Rachel is woken up by the buzzing of her cell phone; it's Logan. She ignores the call (avoiding him after last week's near-kiss), but then realizes that Mi...

'Suits' Recap And Review: 'Two In The Knees' - Mike's Past Haunt
Business is now definitely personal on Suits. After setting up the prizefight between Harvey Specter and Mike Ross, and then establishing the battle over Rachel Zane between Mike and her ex-boyfriend Logan Sanders, the third episode of season four smashes both those things together and creates a messy battleground that's both painful and jaw-dropping to watch.

It's still a rough time to be Rachel, who's having a hard time balancing law school, the uber-case, and Mike, who wants more attention from her, as well as some personal information. He asks her if she loved Logan, and who ended thei...

This Wednesday, it's graduation day for Mike Ross.

Suits has always been about the education of Mike (deserved SAG Award nominee and likely future multi-award winner Patrick J. The acting couple, who began dating in 2011, first met in 2009 while rehearsing for a play. The two stars have been able to successfully make things work despite having to keep up a long-distance relationship. "We need to talk about resources," Harvey tells Jessica, wanting her to give him more resources to handle their 45 cases against Folsom Foods while she's dealing with a pile of bills. "High Noon" is the appropriately titled Suits summer finale, and for some reason, that makes me want to throw things. Rare is the TV show that's so good, its absence is a reason to be disgruntled. After ten episodes of setting up all the dominoes, "High Noon" knocks them down perfectly.

Suits did a fantastic job of riling up its fans with last week's jaw-dropping episode. How does it follow that up? By continuing to push its characters and adding in a few outstanding guest stars as a bonus.

Harvey is understandably not coping with the loss of his best friend well, as he adjusts to having to answer his office phone himself and decides to drag Mike involuntarily to Atlantic City, where Mike was smoking weed and counting cards in his past life. (Atlantic City was also the site of major events in tonight's Burn Notice, in an interesting coincidence.) Harvey's ther...

Harvey's approached by an acquaintance about a 16-year-old tennis phenom that he's trying to sign. It's another week where USA's top original series continues to take chances, and that so far has been a winning formula.

Suits left us with a near-perfect season finale. It's a difficult act to follow up a great episode - but damned if this show doesn't come back with an equally fantastic second-season premiere.

As we rejoin Mike, he's nervous as hell because he's been invited to dinner by Jessica. He's convinced that means she knows his secret, until Harvey tells him that each of the last five senior partners was taken to dinner by Jessica when they were first-year associates. Tomorrow, last summer's best new series is finally back. Is the Suits season premiere worth the wait? SPOILER ALERT!

If you didn't guess from the title ("She Knows"), the premiere does address that controversial cliffhanger from the end of the first season. Valentine's Day is almost upon us. I don't have a valentine this year, but I'd like to give a few out to 10 celebs whose work I have particular affection for.

1. Adam Levine

My favorite The Voice coach is someone I'll always admire, and deservedly so: he has more hardware than a Home Depot. This past year alone, he and Maroon 5 scored their first American Music Award, a People's Choice Award and a Grammy nomination. I totally concur with my friend Jesse Blaze Snider, who referred to them as a band "with three near-perfect albums." (And a fourth on the way, reportedly due in June.)

The series is written by David Milch, who already wowed HBO viewers with Deadwood, and directed by Michael Mann.

Gabriel Macht is a genius.

It isn't in the conventional sense. Measuring him by his IQ - whatever that may be - wouldn't do him justice. Neither would examining his lengthy filmography of over twenty years. Yet spend a few minutes in his company, and it becomes quickly apparent that he is brilliant. It's in his verbal acuity, which would make many professional writers envious. It's in the thought he gives to even the most casual of conversations. He's just plain smarter than you or me.

He's not the type to need to prove that to anyone. Yet with the success of USA Network's original...

When I look back on 2011, I'm not thinking just about things I enjoyed, but experiences and people that made a difference.

It goes without saying that I'd like to thank my loved ones and the doctors, surgeons, nurses, ...

Theater Review: "9 Circles"

9 Circles
The short version: in 9 Circles, Patrick J. Adams gives the best individual performance on stage that I have ever seen.

The long version: the Bootleg Theater production is mindblowing. I would call it the second-best play I've ever been lucky enough to witness, behind only Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman in Broadway's A Steady Rain in 2009. I mention that because that production had plenty of star power, money and publicity behind it. Adams and the cast and company behind 9 Circles have achieved something equally as compelling - and done so with a four-person ensemble and a minimalis...

Suits
The last four episodes of Suits have been the best scripted TV I've seen all summer. The accomplishment also raised my expectations for the season finale - expectations which were met in an hour that seemed to slide the last pieces into place.

Picking up where "Rules of the Game" left off, "Dogfight" sees Harvey try to free the innocent Clifford Danner (Neil Brown, Jr.) from prison, while Mike tries to keep a handle on his messy personal life. One of them succeeds, and the other, not so much. What that gives us is an episode that pays off last week's plot development in fine fashi...
