10 Oscar-Winning Celebs Whose Movies Always Flop
If there was one actor who was seriously over-enthusiastic about winning his Oscar, it was Cuba Gooding Jr. The film was "Jerry Maguire," the year 1996 and the phrase of the moment was "show me the money;" the very same phrase Cuba uttered as Rod Tidwell in the film. Cuba showed the academy more than the money the night he won his award for Best Supporting Actor, as he continued to speak over the orchestra who wanted him to wrap up his speech. Gooding kept speaking until members of the audience, including Goldie Hawn and Will Smith. gave him a standing ovation for NOT leaving the stage. Gooding has made 26 films since, but has been given accolades for only one performance, an NAACP Image Award nod for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for "The Butler."
